SiS and VIA to enjoy better-than-expected chipset shipments in 4Q
Intel's slow down in production of entry-level chipsets has left the door wide open for SiS and VIA to sneak in and ship out a few more boards. :
Buoyed by smoother output of its Pentium 4-based SiS661, SiS may enjoy an on-quarter jump of 50% in shipments in the fourth quarter, doubling its original estimate of 25%, the company noted. In November,
SiS saw its chipset shipments climb to three million units, up 87.5% sequentially, the company said.
