Intel scoffs at '$100 laptop'

Intel's Craig Barret has recently criticized the $100 "laptop" concept geared towards third-world countries.  Mr. Barrett feels that the device is  and should be treated as such:

"Mr Negroponte has called it a $100 laptop - I think a more realistic title should be 'the $100 gadget'," Craig Barrett, chairman of the world's largest chip maker, told a news conference in Sri Lanka.

"The problem is that gadgets have not been successful."
