Pioneer to launch Blu-ray optical drive in January

CES 2006 will be the staging ground for Pioneer's new Blu-ray optical drive.  The can write to BD-R/RW as well as DVD-R/RW discs.  The drive is capable of transfering data at speeds up to 33MB/sec.  The drive is scheduled to launch in January barring any licensing snags.
