Hitachi, Toshiba&Renesas consider joint chip firm

This is an interesting tibit of information.  Three of Japan's top chip making firms are .  The joint venture between Hitachi, Toshiba and Renesas would produce large-scale integrated chips based on a 65 nanometer manufacturing process.
