AtomShockwave buys AddictingGames.com

SAN FRANCISCO - Privately held AtomShockwaveCorp. on Wednesday said it bought AddictingGames.com, a gamingWeb site, expanding its presence in the online game market.

AtomShockwave, which provides Web-based interactive gamesand short films, said the acquisition expands its monthlyaudience to 30 million unique users. Terms were not disclosed.

"This acquisition is the first step in an aggressive planto extend our media footprint, and continue to attract millionsof consumers," Mika Salmi, AtomShockwave's chief executive saidin a statement.

AtomShockwave was formed by the 2001 merger ofShockwave.com and AtomFilms.
