Check Point brings unified threat management to firewall/VPN Check Point Software Technologies has released two new editions of its VPN-1 gateway software, called VPN-1 UTM and VPN-1 Power, that combine firewall, anti-virus, intrusion prevention, and both IPSec and SSL VPN functionality. According to Check Point, the software examines more than 150 applications, services, and protocols, and includes a built-in Web application firewall that guards against threats riding VoIP, instant messaging, and peer-to-peer traffic.
